What we treat
Routine nail cutting: Nails that are too long can press against the end of the shoe and the constant pressure can cause soreness.
Ingrown toenails: Toenails that have been poorly cut can become ingrown. Ingrown toenails can also become infected if left untreated.
Corns and calluses: are caused by pressure and friction which makes the skin thicken. This can often be quite painful and cause discomfort when walking or standing.
Thickened nails: The most common cause of thickened toenails is aging. Toenails thicken with age because the growth rate of the nail plate slows.
Fungal nail infections: Yeast, bacteria and molds can also cause nail infections. Athletes foot can also spread to the nail.
Cracked Heels: Occurs when the skin around the heel becomes dry and splits, also know as fissures. If left untreated the fissures become deeper and can be painful.
Verrucae: are caused by the same virus that causes warts on hands (HPV virus) They can vary in size and numbers and on weight-bearing areas they grow into the skin.
Diabetic foot care: Having diabetes means you are at much greater risk of developing foot problems. But taking care of your feet can help you avoid these complications.
These are all common problems which can be treated successfully and will help to relieve pain and discomfort all whilst keeping you mobile. Conditions like diabetes or circulatory problems can also be picked up by looking at the feet.
We offer easy ground floor access as well as home visits.
SWIFT Verruca Treatment
Suffering from stubborn Verruca? We are now a certified Swift provider.
Swift is a verruca treatment with a difference. Unlike other verruca treatments, Swift uses microwave energy, which is delivered through a special probe applied to the skin, to treat the affected tissue. As Swift does not break the surface of the skin, there is no need for bandages or dressing, leaving you to carry on your day as normal.
We are delighted to be able to offer our patients this incredible treatment. If you are struggling with a verruca, get in touch with our team and book your Swift appointment now.
A Holistic approach to the whole practice.
Feet are one of the most abused parts of the body. Inappropriate footwear and foot dysfunction can lead to ankle sprains, corns, bunions and callouses as well as hip, knee and back problems.
The holistic approach to the whole practice means that any referred back pain caused by foot problems can be treated on site by one of our registered Osteopaths.
